Motivation and Objective
The "Yi Qi" project (Chinese: “一起” = together) focuses on developing and enhancing China competence, with particular emphasis on fostering continuous collaboration and exchange with Chinese partners to ensure profound and sustainable competence development.
The consortium, consisting of the Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC), the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ), and other associated partners, emphasizes interdisciplinarity. The project’s main focus is the evidence-based development and expansion of China competence in the Saxony region.
The goal is to create a dynamic knowledge network that serves as a central point of contact for researchers, particularly young scientists, administrative staff, leaders of research institutions, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The project is funded by the BMBF under the guidelines for promoting the regional development of China competence in science (Regio-China).
Approach
Under the leadership of Chemnitz University of Technology, one sub-project focuses on building regional China competence, spreading it as needed through innovative learning techniques, and ensuring its sustainability in the China Competence Center Saxony.
Another sub-project, led by the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, aims to strengthen contacts with individuals possessing active or former China competence. By developing an Open-and-Social-Collaboration concept based on self-organization, knowledge pooling, and networking, informal knowledge exchange will be encouraged.
"Yi Qi" not only strengthens China competence in Saxony, but also promotes international cooperation and intercultural understanding through a collaborative development of competencies with China.
