How can successful collaboration between Germany and China be achieved in academia and professional practice? Differences in communication styles, expectations regarding collaboration, and culturally shaped approaches to decision-making and feedback often lead to misunderstandings in everyday work — even when there is mutual interest and good intentions.
This workshop focuses on key challenges and success factors in German-Chinese cooperation. Particular attention will be given to topics such as communication, decision-making processes, trust and relationship-building, as well as approaches to feedback and criticism.
What to expect:
Keynote presentation by Chenxi Zhao on communication, decision-making processes, trust and relationships, as well as feedback and criticism in an intercultural context
Interactive discussion and analysis of typical practical challenges with Dr.-Ing. Susann Zeiner-Fink and Chenxi Zhao
Exchange of participants’ own experiences and development of practical strategies for successful cooperation
Objectives of the event:
Strengthen understanding of culturally shaped communication and working styles
Improve the ability to recognize and interpret misunderstandings and potential conflicts
Develop confidence and competence in German-Chinese collaboration contexts
