Chinaforum Breakfast Club Munich "Between Loss of Control and Ability to Act – The Balancing Act of German Companies in China"

October 29, 9:00 to 10:30

|€35 – €55

Past experiences run deep. Many German parent companies know only too well that excessive trust in their subsidiaries in China can be risky: violations of laws and internal guidelines, a lack of transparency, and even fraud and corruption have strained many a partnership.

At the same time, China's market is changing at a pace that often paralyzes centralized management from Germany. Those who rely on lengthy approval processes risk missing opportunities or allowing competitors to overtake them.

The crucial question, therefore, is: How can we successfully balance the necessary control with the urgently needed freedom of decision-making on site?

As part of our China Forum Breakfast Club, "Between Loss of Control and Ability to Act – The Balancing Act of German Companies in China," LIAO Yuhui, Attorney-at-Law and Partner at Shaohe Law Firm, will draw on his many years of experience in advising foreign companies to discuss how German parent companies can establish a sensible separation of powers within their subsidiaries in China to avoid compliance violations. He will also discuss how effective contract management and the pragmatic implementation of data protection requirements can successfully balance control and decision-making freedom.

The Breakfast Club will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Haus der Bayerischen Wirtschaft, Executive Area, Max-Joseph-Straße 5, 80333 Munich. Following the breakfast, there will be an opportunity to further exchange ideas with the speaker and participants and to network for business in China.

The participation fee is €45.00 for registration by October 23, 2025, and €35.00 for China Forum members. For later registrations or short-notice participation, the participation fee is €55.00. The participation fee must be paid in cash at the box office.
