The "Let's Talk China" China discussion group has successfully launched its second round. The steadily growing interest demonstrates the significant need for personal exchange on China-related topics. Nearly 40 engaged participants from SMEs and startups, academia and medicine, networks, and representatives from the city of Chemnitz came together to contribute new perspectives and learn from one another. Many thanks to the TCC for their fantastic support and for providing the space for our event.
A major highlight was the presentation by Alexander Georgiev and Claudia Schuffenhauer from the International Competence Center of Sparkasse Leipzig and the district savings banks. Their analysis of currency, payment transactions, and hedging underscored the crucial role of financial issues in doing business with China and highlighted the specific support services available to companies.

Following this, Managing Directors Vincent and Martin Stöwer of Stoewer Maschinen provided insights into their entrepreneurial journey and their collaboration with Chinese partners. Their enthusiasm for international exchange and the experiences they have gained were not only inspiring for everyone, but it was also enjoyable to hear how positive their partnerships have been and what lessons they have learned about China.
I am very pleased with the increasing momentum and the dialogue on equal footing.
The next meeting will take place on December 3rd at the TCC. The topic is "Images of China in the Media" with Dr. Faust. Anyone who would like to attend or be added to the mailing list is welcome to contact me.
